East Riding of Yorkshire Council is delighted that the Yorkshire International
Business Convention is to be held at The Spa, Bridlington. Following
a £20m refurbishment The Spa is now the premier conference and

within the Edwardian Theatre and Royal Hall together with a range of
seminar and meeting rooms.
With a long history of hosting top international and national events, conferences and concerts The Spa has the flexibility to host any event from board meetings and Darts tournaments to the Pigeon Detectives and Jimmy Tarbuck; from Trades Union conferences and corporate promotions to classical music evenings and ball room dancing.
The Spa is at the heart of the regeneration of Bridlington and is now setting the pace for the development of this traditional seaside resort as the place to visit on the East Coast. For further information contact Paul Roggeman, Conference Bureau 01482 391668 or paul.roggeman@eastriding.gov.uk
Over the years many local businesses have had a great deal of positive involvement in the city. Our ambition is to now increase this involvement in shaping the future of Hull.
We have a fantastic opportunity. Hull is at the forefront of many exciting projects, such as our Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme, the project CAN and WILL transform education in all of our secondary and special schools by 2015.
Our mission to raise achievement levels in Hull schools continues and by the end of business week it is our ambition to ensure that:
- Every school in Hull is supported by, at least, one local business.
- Every school further develops its international twinning and learning connections with the involvement of business expertise.
- We create 100 new opportunities for apprenticeships.
With our collective support, help and encouragement, the positive aspirations of parents, support of families and the focussed efforts of the business community we CAN and WILL make Hull a family friendly City - where no child is left behind.
With your help and encouragement young people CAN and WILL help to ensure that the city has a prosperous future.
NHS Hull (formerly Hull Teaching Primary Care Trust) is responsible for the health and well-being of 250,000 people who live in the city of Hull. Formed in October 2006, the organisation commissions health services, such as hospital, community and mental health care, on behalf of local residents, as well as working with them to promote general well-being and healthy lifestyle choices.
NHS Hull is proud to support this year's Yorkshire International Business Convention. We recognise that a healthy workforce is arguably a company’s most valuable asset, which is why we are keen to support local businesses in developing and maintaining the health and well-being of their staff. Investment of both time and resources in workplace well-being ultimately delivers a host of benefits to the employer including increased productivity, lower staff turn-over and improved attendance rates. But employees will also benefit from such a commitment from their employer, promoting higher morale and increased motivation.
NHS Hull offers a range of schemes to promote well-being in the workplace, from stop smoking sessions and healthy heart check-ups to advice on mental health and alcohol, and is committed to working with local employers to develop the overall health of their staff and of their businesses.
