Fantastic Final Line-ups Announced for YIBC 2012

The Tibetan spiritual leader and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate His Holiness the Dalai Lama has been secured as the keynote speaker at the Yorkshire International Business Convention (YIBC) Leeds 2012. The Dalai Lama will speak on the subject of ethics in business.

Bringing with him insight and wisdom, the Dalai Lama is sure to be one of the most interesting guests ever to take to the YIBC stage.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama, who is making YIBC his first stop on a 2012 UK-wide tour, has travelled to more than 62 countries across six continents in the last 60 years and has received over 84 awards, honorary doctorates and prizes in recognition of his message of peace, non-violence, inter-religious understanding, universal responsibility and compassion.

The Dalai Lama will take to the stage in a purpose built marquee at MEPC’s Wellington Place, in Leeds, on June 15th.

Also in Leeds, retail-guru-turned-government-advisor, Mary Portas, will line up alongside by Sir Richard Branson’s former right-hand man, Will Whitehorn. Portas’ unrivalled record of success on the high street could only be matched by someone like Whitehorn, whose vision – as the architect behind the Virgin Galactic commercial space programme – is quite literally, out of this world.

Leeds’ guest speakers will be complemented with Michael Portillo and Clare Balding who will host this year’s event. Former world record holding athlete and legendary TV commentator, Steve Cram (Yorkshire Bank Ambassador) completes the fantastic line-up in Leeds.

Bridlington Spa will once again host the East Yorkshire end of proceedings as the fitting finale to the always successful Business Week.

There’s something for everyone at YIBC, Bridlington in 2012! Mary Portas, the world’s best known shopper, Will Whitehorn a man with incredible inter-galactic’ vision, Olympian Steve Cram (Yorkshire Bank Ambassador), top politician Michael Portillo, Kevin Keegan one of the country’s best ever footballers and a former England captain and manager and someone who can impersonate them all in Rory Bremner.

Event organisers also plan to end this year’s YIBC in Bridlington with a special screening of the Dalai Lama’s talk in Leeds.
